More than 18 million Italians entrust \u20ac111.7 billion each year to gambling<\/strong>. There are those who bet their money online, sitting on their couch at home, and those who go to a betting shop. A stratospheric figure that continues to grow. It is the so-called “covid effect.” The pandemic, in fact, forced a sharp acceleration in telematics gambling<\/strong>, so much so that the trend was reversed in a flash: physical collection plummeted below 40 percent, telematics collection exceeded 60 percent. But gambling is anything but a game<\/strong>: behind computer and cell phone screens very often lurks the hell of addiction, the economic and human ruin of individuals and families, and the pervasive presence of organized crime.<\/div>\n<\/header>\n

But how can the state repair the distortions<\/strong> of a legalization that started with excellent assumptions but ended up triggering negative spillovers that are still submerged? On Thursday, June 8, from 4 to 5 p.m.,<\/strong> the updated edition of the book written by Claudio Forleo and Giulia Migneco in four hands<\/strong> will be presented at the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies<\/strong>. With this new edition of the book, Avviso Pubblico aims to provide qualified training on how licit gambling works in Italy with an analysis of the data, the ability to discern between legal and illegal offerings, and the cognitive and emotional processes that govern gambling and make it a danger to hundreds of thousands of people.<\/p>\n
